FUJI Super W is a dedicated stainless steel grinding wheel series for practical, affordable fabrication work. The 100mm and 180mm depressed center wheels are designed for weld grinding, deburring and stock removal on stainless steel components.
Selected white fused alumina (WA) abrasive and Sumitomo phenolic resin are combined using FUJI's Japanese warm-press manufacturing process. The resulting uniform pore structure supports heat dissipation and a comfortable grinding feel, helping operators manage heat during stainless steel work.
Super W provides an affordable option for routine industrial use. Choose the diameter to match your grinder and the access required around the workpiece, then confirm the wheel grade and mounting dimensions for the application.
White Alumina, Phenolic Resin and Warm Pressing
Selected White Fused Alumina Abrasive
The WA abrasive is selected for the Super W stainless steel formulation. Grinding performance depends on the complete combination of abrasive, grain size, bond grade and wheel structure, rather than the abrasive name alone.
Sumitomo Phenolic Resin
The phenolic resin forms the bond that retains the abrasive grains. FUJI combines the selected resin and abrasive through controlled production to support consistent grinding behavior across its standard products.
Uniform Structure and Heat Management
FUJI's warm-press process supports uniform pore distribution and heat dissipation. This helps reduce heat buildup and the risk of discoloration or burning during appropriate use. Pressure, contact time, wheel condition and workpiece thickness still affect the result; keep the wheel moving and avoid prolonged pressure in one location.
Japanese Production and Quality Standards
Super W is manufactured in FUJI's wholly owned factory under Japanese production and quality-control standards. FUJI controls its own manufacture rather than sourcing the product as an OEM relabelled wheel.

Construction: White alumina abrasive with reinforced resinoid bond. Confirm the exact grade and the maximum operating speed marked on the supplied wheel before use.
A factory-produced 16mm bore option for the 100mm wheel can be discussed for compatible export-market equipment. Specify the required bore when ordering; do not enlarge or modify a finished wheel.
Two Common Sizes: 4-Inch and 7-Inch Super W
The 4-inch (100mm) and 7-inch (180mm) versions are the two most commonly used Super W sizes. Both are dedicated to stainless steel grinding; the choice depends on workpiece access, the amount of material to remove and the equipment available.
4-Inch / 100mm: Compact Handling for Localized Grinding
The 100mm Super W is a practical choice for compatible compact angle grinders. Its smaller diameter helps with handling around brackets, corners, narrow work areas and localized welds where a larger wheel may be difficult to position. Typical tasks include stainless steel weld cleanup, edge preparation, deburring and maintenance work.
7-Inch / 180mm: Larger Work Areas and Heavy Grinding Tasks
The 180mm Super W suits compatible industrial grinders for substantial stainless steel welds, larger fabricated assemblies and repeated stock-removal work. It is a useful option for tank fabrication, industrial workshops and shipyard stainless steel work where the component offers enough access for a larger wheel. Select the grinder and grade to suit the workload rather than applying extra pressure to a smaller tool.
Neither diameter alone determines the finish, service life or removal rate. Compare the complete wheel specification on your workpiece and equipment.
Stainless Steel Fabrication Applications
Typical tasks include leveling welds, removing burrs, preparing edges and removing excess material before subsequent finishing. Applications include stainless steel tanks, frames, brackets and fabricated assemblies where controlled stock removal is required.
For a decorative or specified final surface finish, follow grinding with a suitable finishing process. Super W is a grinding wheel; it does not replace every polishing or finishing operation. Super W can also be considered for selected alloy-steel products in addition to stainless steel. For super alloy steel or heat-resistant alloy components, provide the exact material designation and grinding task so that FUJI can confirm the appropriate specification. Suitability is not assumed for every alloy.
Selection Guidance and Related FUJI Products
Super W focuses on affordable stainless steel grinding with heat management. Flexible wheels, flap discs and premium zirconia wheels offer different choices for contact behavior, finishing or demanding stock removal. Select by task and required result rather than assuming one series is best for every operation.
Choose 100mm for compatible compact grinders and localized work, or 180mm for compatible larger grinders and accessible grinding areas. Confirm diameter, bore, guard, mounting arrangement and marked maximum RPM together.
How does Super W help manage heat?
The selected white alumina, phenolic resin and warm-pressed structure are designed to support heat dissipation. Appropriate pressure and movement remain important, particularly on thin sections and heat-sensitive workpieces.
Is white alumina alone proof of an iron-free wheel?
No. Limits for iron, sulfur and chlorine concern the complete product formulation. If your project specifies contamination limits, request product-specific documentation. Keep abrasives used on stainless steel separate from those used on carbon steel.
Is Super W suitable for final polishing?
Its main role is grinding and stock removal. Select a suitable subsequent finishing abrasive when the work requires a defined scratch pattern, decorative finish or polishing stage.
What information is needed for a bulk quotation?
Provide wheel dimensions, required grade, packaging and quantity. For application-specific requirements, include the stainless steel grade, grinder model, current wheel, monthly consumption and the result you want to improve.

Choosing the correct abrasive wheel is critical for both operational efficiency and JIS-compliant safety. Fuji Grinding Wheels are engineered with precise technical markings to ensure the perfect match for your specific material and machine requirements.
Understanding Fuji Markings (e.g., WA 36 P BF)
Abrasive Type (WA/A/AZ): Determines the suitability for material hardness (e.g., WA for hardened steel, AZ for heavy-duty alloys).
Grit Size (16 - 120): Indicates the coarseness. Lower numbers for rapid removal; higher numbers for precision finishing.
Hardness Grade (L - S): Defines the bond strength. Correct selection prevents premature wheel wear or surface glazing.
Bonding Agent (BF): High-grade Resinoid bond reinforced for high-speed safety and impact resistance.
💡 Expert Selection Tip
For professional export markets, always verify the Peripheral Speed (m/s) compatibility. Fuji wheels are designed to exceed JIS Burst Speed factors, but operating at the recommended R.P.M. ensures the longest tool life and cleanest cut.
Note: Mismatched grit or hardness can lead to excessive heat buildup, affecting the workpiece's structural integrity.

Efficiency Focused: Relies on machine guarding and operational procedures.
1.RPM Compliance: Never exceed the maximum R.P.M. specified on the wheel. Using the sides of the wheels for grinding is strictly prohibited, as it compromises the structural integrity of the abrasive bond.
2.Mandatory Idling: Allow the tool to idle for one minute before beginning work. If a new wheel has been mounted, an idle run of three minutes is required to ensure dynamic stability.
3.Workpiece Stability: All materials must be securely fastened. Improperly secured workpieces can lead to vibration, wheel binding, and unsafe kickback forces.
4.Arbor Hole Integrity: Do not modify or enlarge the metal center of the arbor hole. A proper fit is critical; a mismatched arbor causes eccentric rotation and dangerous vibration levels.
5.PPE Requirements: Industrial-grade face and eye protection are mandatory at all times. Ensure all protective gear meets local safety compliance standards.
6.Guard Protection: Protection guards are designed to contain fragments in the unlikely event of a wheel failure. Never operate tools or machinery with guards removed.

Professional Export & Maintenance Insight
When deploying Fuji high-performance tools in overseas markets, ensure that the regional power grid frequency and voltage match the tool specifications. To maintain the superior burst speed safety of Fuji wheels, store abrasives in a dry, temperate environment. Humidity can degrade the resin bond, potentially lowering the wheel’s resistance to centrifugal forces.
